Hi I’m Allen, nice to meet you!

a little bit about me...

Portrait of the photographer

The junk phone camera...

A cheap Android kept me back for a while.

After dropping and breaking my phone in my second year of college, I downgraded to a cheap android phone with a blurry camera lens. It was fine for a while - my friends and family all had the latest and greatest iPhones that somehow captured skin perfectly. Not conforming to the Apple ecosystem, I was perfectly content with photos they were taking. I was missing out on much more than than I realized.

How I got started...

Time only moves in one direction

Life moved too fast. Classmates graduated, friends got married, parents moved slower, and my own life was changing. I wanted to remember these moments, but smartphone cameras weren't cutting it. With my sign on bonus from my first job, I purchased a Ricoh GRiii, then eventually upgraded to a Sony A7iv. I started taking photos of friends and family, and quickly realized that I loved the process of capturing a moment in time.

My style...

Dreams and memories

I capture moments that feel like you're in a memory. If a frame feels like a memory you’re not sure is real, I did my job.

Because our heavenly father sees us...

And created us in the Imago Dei.

As a Christian, I believe that God created men and women in His image. Every person is a carefully crafted masterpiece and is to be dignified simply by their God-given identity. People deserve to be honored in front of the lens.
